We have successfully done an ultra light XT Technora version of our TR race sails for 5 years; however foor TR-9 we made a further breakthrough in the construction. The super light weight, soft feel and incredible strength of the Technora have been an advantage especially in the larger sizes, but there was still an element of “crisp response” that the monofilm versions had.
For the TR-9 XT we wanted to combine the best characteristics of both. By using the Technora in the upper sail body and leech area of the sail we optimize the effectiveness of its ultra light weight as well as achieving a soft responsive release in gusty conditions.
A seam following the load line of the sail joins the Techora to a monofilm lower body that is focused in the deepest most locked in sections of the sail providing stability and crisp response. We thoroughly tested the effectiveness of the new layout and found it to beat out both previous XT and monofilm versions.
The TR-9 XT is available to devastate the competition from 7.0 up to 12.0.
