Dany Bruch joins Starboard
29 Year old Daniel Bruch from Spain will reinforce the Starboard wave team in 2011. As a rising star in the PWA, Dany has recently made a name for himself by looping the artificial waves of the Siam park in Tenerife with a little help from a jetski. Since Dany is already sailing Severne rigs and knows many of the best riders of the Starboard Dream Team, signing him for 2011 was the next logical step for both parties. With this latest addition, Starboard will reinforce its already strong position in the PWA and is proud to have a new and upcoming talent on its research and development crew.
Dany Bruch: “After a five-year break in my windsurfing career, I knew that returning would be one of the hardest things I’ve done so far. It took a lot of dedication, training and a strong mind to get to the top of the PWA. The skill level is higher than ever before, and getting up and staying there is very hard. Basically it took me four years to achieve the goals I’ve set myself once I started focusing on my comeback. One of those goals was to end up in the top five, and another one was to have the best brands in the business support me and push me.
With me joining Starboard, my last goal in regards of brands behind me is reached. Being with Severne for 2 years already, produced some excellent results for me, and I find it great that Starboard believes in me as a team rider and tester. There’s a long a great future together waiting for us, and I can wait to start the R&D process with Scott McKercher. Representing the Tiki makes me feel proud and knowing a bit of the background of this great brand from some of the other riders, there’s nothing that’s holding me back from a full focus on my sport and my passion.”
